One advantage with HQPlayer embedded is that you can control the upsampling from a web browser running on an iPad (or any other computer). If you are not geeky, this is the bit you will struggle with as the documentation is bad. When I turn on the NUC it just boots off of the USB stick and runs HQPlayer automatically. I downloaded HQPlayer OS and HQPlayer embedded onto a bootable USB stick which just plugs into the NUC. This keeps it separate from the player software so I can go a bit mad with upsampling if necessary. It also catalogues your library from multiple sources.ĭirac Live can be run as a plugin so it is easy to turn it on and off or change the filter. This is run on a Mac or PC It can connect to either Qobuz, Tidal or High Res Audio streaming services. The solution that I ended up with which meets all of my requirements is Audirvana Studio as the UI. If you want to give HQPlayer a try, this may be the answer as it is not too difficult to setup. However, I found the HQPlayer client to be horrible to use, the iPad app is flakey and I could not incorporate Dirac Live. The client does allow streaming from Qobuz and you can send the output to HQPlayer NAA on the Sonore end point. You can run HQPlayer server and HQPlayer Client on the same PC or Mac.
I did try LMS, but as Chumpchops said, there is no HQPlayer plug in
